What Dental Restoration Is Right for Me?

restorationAt Dental Professionals of Fair Lawn, we offer a range of cosmetic and restorative dentistry services. For patients who have missing, broken, chipped, or even misaligned teeth, porcelain dental restorations can often provide an excellent solution. If you are experiencing any of the aforementioned concerns, take a look below to find out which type of porcelain restoration may be the most effective for your needs.

Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers can be bonded to the front of the teeth to mask discolorations, close spaces, conceal chips and cracks, and improve the overall appearance of the smile. We typically use daVinci veneers, which are custom-fabricated in a state-of-the-art daVinci Dental Studio. Composed of several layers of ultra-thin porcelain material, daVinci veneers are durable, highly resistant to staining, and can mimic the look and feel of natural teeth.

Inlays and Onlays
Inlays and onlays can be used to repair damage – such as decay – on the surfaces of the back teeth. Our dentists often use E-max inlays and onlays, which are constructed out of a newer, stronger porcelain material. With the exceptional strength and durability provided by this advanced porcelain, E-max inlays and onlays can be great for restoring back teeth used to chew and grind food.

Porcelain Crowns
Porcelain crowns are designed to cover, strengthen, and protect teeth that are damaged or decayed. For patients needing dental crowns, our team often uses BruxZir® Solid Zirconia, which is hard, processed zirconia with an overlay of porcelain. Crowns made from BruxZir® Solid Zirconia are extremely durable, and they also have a very natural, aesthetically-pleasing look.

Full-Arches on Dental Implants
Compared to traditional dentures, full-arch restorations on dental implants can be a more secure and durable option for replacing an entire row of upper or lower teeth. To construct a full-arch restoration, our dentists often use BruxZir® Solid Zirconia. As we mentioned above, BruxZir® Solid Zirconia is an exceptionally strong material that can provide a very natural-looking result.

Ultimately, the most effective dental restoration – as well as the porcelain material used to construct it – will depend on your unique needs and goals. Anything that can mimic the hardness, strength, and wear of a natural tooth is ideal, and the newer porcelains we use for restorations at Dental Professionals of Fair Lawn have proven to do just that.
